Elusive Spring always here in Chicagoland

Ad-Free Blog

Visiting some Spring ideas from the past...

I'm looking forward to planting and trying to get in the greenhouse since we are having a melt this week.

I'm late in planting in the house....that should get done this week...I love pansies.

Some great photos and Spring scenes with
Glorious daffodils at the Chicago Garden Show a few years back at Navy Pier.

Table top inspirations, isn't this luscous.

Tulips at the show

Just to smell dirt in March is a Godsend this time of year in the North.

Inside my Birds nested and eggs appeared.

Eggs in an old wooden bowl, unhatched

Our porch bloomed, not this year, yet.
Nothing is on my front door yet, or on the front porch except twigs and wind refuse,

Table in the past.
Ivy topiary and bunny from last year. Mid 30's this year, too cold for this.

We even had a few tulips in the garden last year.

I hope to get this going this week.

I'll be making sweets, rice crispy treats are standard for Spring.

Dressing my tables, eventually.

Mr. Bunny will appear

Nostalgia peeks out here and there

Which came first? Whoops that's chickens says the
Bunnies.

My weak attempt at Spring this year, so far.

Planning food for company, Carrots are a must.

We're going to scrub the back porch, when it isn't below freezing.

Will I get to use these great Spring tablecloths on the porch, or will we be stuck inside with another snow storm?

Just waiting for elusive Spring for inspiration,

This Spring wreath has blown off the door, twice.

  1. We get your elusive Chicago "spring" a day or so after it leaves Chi-town and crosses the lake. I'm so very eager for it. (She said, looking out at the gray skies as the rain drips outdoors). Sending you many wishes for a Happy Easter -- this post with all its bunny cheer and pretty eggs cheers me tremendously this gloomy day!
