Follow IT, Blogger has Changed

  ALWAYS AD-FREE

Blogger has eliminated their "Join by email" option as of July 1, 2021. Please take some time to rejoin my blogs via email from

FOLLOW IT!

over in the right hand column. It is easy to sign up...just click the button and follow the easy instructions.

You don't have to opt-out of other services. But, you have the options of only receiving blogs/sites that you choose to hear from.

I've never asked before---but, so many bloggers on google/blogger/blogspot are loosing all their followers. Please make sure you support your favorite bloggers, or the blogworld will change forever.

I've always tried to be faceless behind my blogs---but I'm a real granny, a retired artist, collector of antiques, and odd stuff and I play with dolls!

SomethingOldNewGreenRedo  and my other blog, Barbieoldnewgreenredo

never have ads or newsletters. I work very hard for content suitable for any age. I never send additional emails about the blog or use any of your information in any way, except to ask you this one time to please join via the new widget

FOLLOW IT
in the upper right column.

  2. I like to see the Face behind the Blog! Blogger sure was acting up last Night but Today all is well again! I don't like when they do enhancements, if something isn't broke, don't fix it, is my mantra!

    1. Hi, Dawn, I know it is a pain---I'm not that fond of photos---which you have said, too. But, desperate times require desperate measures, lol. Hugs, Sandi

  3. When I launched my blog in 2008 (then called Works Well) I swore it would be serious, dealing only with the hard sciences, technology and heavy non-fiction books with lots of footnotes. That promise lasted a mere six months. There seemed no reason why I shouldn't follow my true bent (obs.) and be facetious. After all, during my six-year stay in the USA I noticed facetiousness was in short supply and so I filled the gap, as it were. Indigenous women kissed and hugged me and I sensed a causal relationship between their embraces and my comical observations. Of course I was wrong. Those same women were hugging and kissing everybody.

I too kept my face in reserve from my blog until I realised it had facetious potential. I had expected it to balloon out with old age, but instead it becamed lined and gaunt as if I were Gary Cooper's long-lost uncle. Later my face endured minor surgery and I went the sympathy route with a huge bandage which caused transatlantic Oohs and Aahs. During the pandemic my hair grew like bramble bushes; in retrospect I realise I looked like Cookie Monster (but without the jokiness) and I missed a couple of tricks there.

I wouldn't want you to think I'm preaching. Your face lacks facetious potential which is a good thing. But it means you have to scratch around for more blog subjects.

Do I need to rejoin that email thing? I come round here of my own accord, sniffing what's on the menu. I don't need the promise that there's something new. Or am I missing something?

    1. Dear Roderick...a dose of facetious is just what the doctor ordered. Your words remind me so much of my dear friend who has advanced Parkinson's who is more than facetious and down right cheeky. We have 'carried on' a phone relationship for YEARS, as well as email...but, he has lost his ability to speak and communicate by mail---so, I enjoy your lovely ramblings, as your are 'brothers of another mother.'

As far as the blogger thing---when one posts on blogger---an email would go to anyone who signed up on bloggers 'follow me' widget in layout! That is being eliminated by July, 1st. So, we have to find another service. Mail Chimp, Follow It, and a few others, some have fees some don't. I'm hoping this will help.

The Follow It button is the service I chose, it's free, and it seems you have to opt in---rather than opt out for the other things they offer. Hope this works, but no one will know you are yammering away after July 1st!

Have a great day---I only starting hugging(online) after the pandemic started...because everyone needed them!! Ha, Sandi

  4. Hi Sandi. I got notification from follow it but I opted to go with Linda as I correspond with her all the time anyway. Was your's hard to change over? I knew I couldn't do it by myself. I signed up on yours again but I still got this post from you on mine so didn't know if I had to or not but just in case. I love your picture, you are very pretty and don't have anything to hide.. I haven't shown my real face for a long time. I know I shouldn't be but I will admit I am very vain. haha Wrinkles change a person!!..Happy Days my friend..xxoJudy

    1. Hi, Judy...it was very easy...and all you do is click on the link give them your email...the only things I have gotten (as I signed up for myself) is posts for my own blogs. If you click you are a publisher you can easily follow the steps-and insert in the layout under photo widget with url following. I confess the photos are a few years old, but so many are with family--it's hard to find some alone. Age, doesn't matter anymore---since there are more of 'us' then 'them'. LOL Baby Boomers Go for it!

I am already a follower of your blog, but just haven't commented much lately, but will try to be a better "follower" in the future! Have a blessed day!!

The widget url...goes in the photo widget, and I joined my own blogs to see if anything else comes---it seems to be you have to opt-in to receive anything...grins and it's FREE!
