OUR REALITY-Happy Thanksgiving to All!

AD-Free Blog

To all those out there, preparing, cleaning, shopping, scurrying for the the holiday, my spirit is with you!

oldnewgreenredo

I'm pulling photos from years past--because very little is being done here because I'm still recovering from my knee replacement. I'm doing well---and GIVING THANKS!

oldnewgreenredo

There have been no fun kid projects this year!

Add caption

And no new goodies to share......but I GIVE THANKS to my readers, friends, doctors, therapists besides my wonderful friends and family!

oldnewgreenredo

The important part isn't shiny windows, or sparkling glassware---it's gathering together with those you LOVE and sharing that LOVE!

oldnewgreenredo

Of course there is all that good Food!

oldnewgreenredo

But, family heirlooms are still packed away (I can't get into the basement!)

But I love the warmth and joy of the images of Thanksgiving!

oldnewgreenredo

The bounty of our countries farms, and homemade pies!

oldnewgreenredo

The recipes...And THANKS to all the people who share their love and knowledge  on their blogs!

oldnewgreenredo

We did get up our Tom Turkey up in the yard, but no pumpkins are out....with the frost and snow we have already had!

Other favorites are lurking in downstairs bins....

Dinner this year will be on paper plates and a buffet-streamlined, store-bought pies,(shudder), and no fuss!
We are calling it, Rustic and Informal....
But most of all We give Thanks for the LOVE
Family and Friends will gather and share!

Thank you all for your well wishes, and best to you and all your 'families'

And have a WONDERFUL THANKSGIVING!

Thank you for any and all comments.

Safe recovery for you knee replacement.
I am recovering from cataract surgery. I had my right eye done last week and I'm anxious to have the other done. Hopefully it will be this Winter sometime.
Your photos are very beautiful. As you say, the important thing is gathering together and Love.

    1. Oh, Thelma, I had both eyes done last year...so far, only a bit of clouding, which is apparently fixable. I have 20/20 and didna't have special lenses, just need 125 readers to do comp work...Hugs to you and hope all will be well. I miss using my camera and the dolls, LOL, and visiting with everyone..hope all goes well!

  4. Happy Thanksgiving! I also am recovering from both cataracts being fixed. Small complication in the 2nd one means a trip back to Doc tomorrow morning. Then hopefully can get new glasses to be able to see well again. But a total knee replacement! I admire your great attitude for a low key turkey day. You exhibit the thanksgiving spirit!

  5. I wish you all good things with your recovery. Do paper plates matter when you are grateful for so many good things and celebrating with loved ones? Not a single bit! Happy Thanksgiving!

    1. Ah, thank you---no it didn't matter at all...we went from 12 people to 4 due weather/travel and sickness. The most fun we had was packing up goody/food totes that my son delivered to the sickies...And blessings, we got the most hysterical Text photo/video of Thanksgivingwishes with all the hacking and sniffling. It was hysterical, but they knew, I'm just too susceptible right now---Today we delivered the Advent calendar I do---and basically had to throw it into the door...! and then they turned on their lights and all waved through the window!...sigh...
Thanks so much or your wishes, and it was as perfect as life let's us be...LOL.

    1. Thanks, Jacqueline. I'm 71 now so any surgery is a pain...so we are muddling through. Christmas maybe on the memory/limited side also. Simple, but we will have (12) sit down, unless we pick up some strays which sometimes happen and then we will do buffet! Thank you for the good wishes!
