Midwest Gardening 2020: Upside down Sunflower Update

 AD-Free Blog

Ever wonder why sunflowers tip upside down?

I thought it was from our drought...not enough water...even though I would faithfully water them every other day.

And then there was the mess on the ground ????

Squirrels!!! Flowers are upside down so squirrels can hang and feast!

This guy was quite in a hurry to reach all the succulent seeds.

I caught multiple photos...and he just would change his position.

See the tail?

Hope you have an upside-down/FUN/feasting weekend!

  2. OMG about Mr. Squirrel. I swear they are so sneaky. The one we have by us could be in cirque du soliel with how he can stretch and fly through the air with ease. They are amazing when they want to get into things. Happy Weekend. Have a nice holiday. Hugs. Kris

    1. LOL, yes, Cirque Du Soliel...does come to mind. And such a mess. I hung some of the broken flowers on the front door, and 10 minutes later there was a gold finch on there, and no way to get a photo. We are going to get some rain finally even if it ruins the weekend, it will be worth it! Thanks for stopping by---my chrome isn't letting me comment, so I have moved back to Safari???Wish blogger would make up its mind. Sandi

  3. Sandi, that is hilarious! I have sunflowers and squirrels, but I haven’t seen them feasting on the seeds. Great photos!
