Tulip Teatime

We Have Sun Today, YAY!

So I quick took some photos of a tulip inspired teatime.

All the easter projects are off the table long enough to be civilized.

Nothing matches in my home, except my formal porcelain dishes which we use for holidays.

Everything else is informal, mix and match.

The lazy-suzan has an assortment of tulip inspired ceramics and my grandmother's coffee pot, which is Scandinavian Blue enamel on metal. The old doily---was just such a great color, I had to pick it up for a pittance. The unusual crocus pot with the figures on the corner is marked Made in Japan.

The maid in the middle is actually a porcelain bell, marked Czechslovakia and was my mom's. The salt and pepper are one of many styles of this mold marked Made in Japan. These have a lot of detail, possibly from before WWII. Grandmother had these on her kitchen window sill.

The teapot is vintage unmarked porcelain with a metal handle.

I love it, and it really keeps water hot, if primed.

The vintage windmill sugar and creamer are marked Made in Japan,

I have had them for a long time.

My everyday dishes are a mishmash of old and new. The Saucer is for-a-glass saucer,

pottery marked Booths, Made in England, pattern is Peony. Booths produced pottery from 1891 through the 1980s with many changes in ownership. Some say these pieces date from the 1950's.

I just pick up anything I like in blue and white to really use.

My grandmother bought her way through Europe in the 1950s. This shoe is marked hand painted Delft /Blauw. So I'm dating this 1950's. Tons of this was made for the 'Grand Tour' tourist trade. Makes a handy tea bag holder here.

Just to pop this a bit, in my now white with red kitchen, is the outdoor tablecloth from last year by Nicole Miller Home. I snagged this for $12.00 at HomeGoods,

and bought it for the yardage it's 70x120. This was before the red was planned for the kitchen.

I finally in the end, couldn't live with all white.

For a red pop, I used my April Cornell Provencal Red napkins. That delicious nibbles on the plate, (Churchill) again, are Chocolate Pizzelles.

These tasty cookies are only 23 calories each.

I might try serving these with some fresh strawberries

and a bit of greek yogurt later in the season.

They come in several flavors.

Faux red tulips finish the table. Sigh---this is the first sunshine we have had in a week. Going out to get fresh tulips in 50-60 mph winds wasn't my idea of fun, so these will work until next week.

I think maybe we had 5 days sun in March and now today.

YAY!

We were supposed to get snow, but it blew so hard it never landed---sorry Indiana and Michigan.

Now on to SPRING~PLEASE!

Decisions:Kitchen Corner Buffet and Wall Bits

Okay, we have this lovely---all white kitchen now, except from my bits and pieces entering into the equation. The blue rugs are super, they have two families of blue, mustard gold/brown, cranberry red and cream in them. Works with any direction I may go.
